"Aioli Dinner" Print, Numbered
Extremely Limited Quantities
This limited edition, numbered print, is one of George Rodrigue's most famous, pre-blue dog prints. "Aioli Dinner" was Rodrigue's first major print with people in it and was created in 1971. He used photos of the Aioli Gourmet Dinner Club, which met once a month on the lawn of a different plantation home in New Iberia, LA. Men sat at the table with a bottle of wine, women cooked the food and the young men served it. Rodrigue's grandfather and uncle are portrayed in this print. The plantation in the background is the Darby House Plantation, which has been torn down. Today, the original painting hangs in the famous New Orleans Museum of Art.
This numbered print is limited to only 1,000 prints and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
